Hurricanes' Philip Samuelsson: Moved to Carolina

Samuelsson was acquired by Carolina on Tuesday, having been exchanged for Keegan Lowe.

Both Samuelsson and Lowe are defense-first blueliners, so it appears the move was made to give each player a fresh start at new organizations. Additionally, Samuelsson will be playing for the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL, a team coached by his father Ulf Samuelsson. The Canes will be hoping that this family dynamic can provide a spark to Philip's development.
