Gawdin was placed on waivers Sunday for assignment to AHL Ontario, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Gawdin, who signed a two-way deal with the Kings in the offseason, figures to spend most of the upcoming campaign in the minors as a depth option. The 27-year-old Gawdin has one assist in 13 career NHL games.
