Buffalo traded Hagg to the Panthers on Sunday in exchange for a 2022 sixth-round draft pick.
With Aaron Ekblad (lower body) being placed on long-term injured reserve earlier Sunday and expected to miss the rest of the regular season, the Panthers acquired another defensemen to shore up their blue-line depth. Hagg has produced 55 points in 284 career NHL contests, spent primarily with Philadelphia, and is best known for his physicality. The 27-year-old once amassed 258 hits and 158 blocks (2018-19) and will hit triple digits in both categories soon (97, 91 currently).
