Red Wings' Bobby Ryan: Agrees to tryout

Ryan (triceps) signed a professional tryout agreement with Detroit on Tuesday.

Considering Ryan spent the 2020-21 campaign with the Red Wings, the fact that the team isn't offering him a contract outright could be over concerns related to his injury. If the 34-year-old forward can show he is back to 100 percent, there is little reason to think Detroit won't bring him into the fold permanently ahead of Opening Night.
