Red Wings' Bobby Ryan: Getting long look in preseason

Ryan remains in consideration for a spot on Detroit's Opening Night roster.

Ryan has impressed head coach Jeff Blashill in the preseason, and the veteran seems to be holding up well after his 2020-21 campaign was cut short due to a triceps injury that required surgery in late April. Last season, Ryan pitched in seven goals and just as many assists through 33 games; he'll look to garner another contract from the Wings after they inked him to a one-year, $1 million contract in Oct. 2020.
