Ruotsalainen was assigned to AHL Rochester on Wednesday, CBS Sports reports.

Ruotsalainen has yet to make his NHL debut. The 23-year-old logged 19 games with Tampere (Finland) before coming to Buffalo for training camp, recording 16 goals and 11 helpers. He'll look to develop his game in the minors before making the leap to the top level.
