While most of the top players in the world will be at the 2022 Arnold Palmer Invitational in Florida, a collection of 120 PGA Tour players will also be plying their trade at the 2022 Puerto Rico Open this week. Grand Reserve Country Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico will play host to the event, which features a $666,000 winner's purse and is worth 300 FedEx Cup points and 24 points in the Official World Golf Ranking for the winner. And while there isn't a Masters invite available for a win at an alternate PGA Tour event, there is a two-year exemption up for grabs and past champions include stars like Viktor Hovland and Tony Finau.

Mark Hubbard is listed as the 18-1 favorite in the latest 2022 Puerto Rico Open odds from Caesars Sportsbook, but without any of the top 50 players in the field, it's pretty wide open. A total of 32 players are priced at between 25-1 and 50-1 in this week's PGA Tour odds and finding the right value could lead you to an enormous payday. Before locking in your 2022 Puerto Rico Open picks, be sure to see the golf predictions and projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine.

SportsLine's proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June of 2020. In fact, it's up over $9,000 on its best bets since that point, nailing tournament after tournament.

At the 2021 Open Championship, McClure's best bets included Collin Morikawa winning outright even though he was listed as a massive 40-1 long shot. In addition, McClure's model was all over Jon Rahm's (10-1) first career major championship victory at the 2021 U.S. Open. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the weekend, but the model still projected him as the winner.

This same model has also nailed a whopping seven majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Now that the Puerto Rico Open 2022 field is locked, SportsLine simulated the event 10,000 times, and the results were surprising. Head to SportsLine now to see the projected 2022 Puerto Rico Open leaderboard.

The model's top 2022 Puerto Rico Open predictions

Another surprise: Kurt Kitayama, a 40-1 long shot, makes a strong run at the title. He's a target for anyone looking for a huge payday. The 29-year-old from Chico, Calif. played collegiately at UNLV and earned his PGA Tour card this season after finishing 23rd in the Korn Ferry Tour finals a season ago.

Last week, Kitayama ended a five-week streak of missing cuts on the PGA Tour by finishing third at the Honda Classic. Kitayama opened his tournament with 64 to earn the first-round lead and wound up earning a career-best $552,000 and 190 FedEx Cup points for the top-three finish. He's now up to No. 172 in the Official World Golf Ranking and No. 84 in the FedEx Cup standings and another strong finish in Puerto Rico would go a long way towards helping him keep his card for next season.

Another surprise: Tyler Duncan, a massive 60-1 long shot, makes a strong run at the title. He's a target for anyone looking for a huge payday. The 32-year-old, who played collegiately at Purdue, is currently the No. 414 player in the Official World Golf Ranking but he won the 2019 RSM Classic.

Duncan bested Webb Simpson in a playoff to win that tournament and while he has missed the cut in four of his last five starts, he's been striking the ball better than the results would indicate. Duncan enters this week ranked 27th on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: tee-to-green (0.882), which could make him a serious threat in Puerto Rico this week.
