Chelsea GK Thibaut Courtois has red card appeal turned down
The Belgian shot-stopper appealed the ruling of his red card against Swansea but no to avail.
Thibaut Courtois is definitely out for Chelsea's big weekend clash at Manchester City.
The Belgian international was given a red card for a tough tackle against Swansea City on Saturday, and his ban was upheld by the FA after an appeal.

The 23-year-old took down Bafetimbi Gomis during a clear goal scoring chance in the 52nd minute. Gomis converted the ensuing penalty kick to secure the draw. The FA's statement reads:
A claim of wrongful dismissal submitted by Chelsea in relation to Thibaut Courtois has been unsuccessful following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing earlier today.
The goalkeeper was dismissed for denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity in the 52nd minute of Chelsea's game against Swansea City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday (8 August 2015).
Therefore, the player's one-match suspension, which is the standard penalty for this offence, remains with immediate effect.
For a club to be successful with a claim of wrongful dismissal, it must prove to an Independent Regulatory Commission via written and/or video evidence that the match referee made an obvious error.
Let's be honest -- it was a penalty kick and 100 percent a red card. And now Chelsea has to play Manchester City at 11 a.m. EST on Sunday with Asmir Begovic in goal.
