FedEx Cup Playoffs 2021: Tour Championship picks, PGA odds, props, best bets from proven golf expert
SportsLine's Mike McClure has locked in his top 2021 Tour Championship picks

The field will be in hot pursuit of Patrick Cantlay starting Thursday when the top 30 PGA Tour players tee off in the 2021 Tour Championship, the finale of this year's FedEx Cup Playoffs. Cantlay moved to the top of the FedEx Cup standings with his BMW Championship win and will start the event at East Lake Golf Club with a two-stroke lead. The leader starts at 10-under par, and second-place Tony Finau will begin at 8-under, followed by BMW runner-up Bryson DeChambeau (-7) and world No. 1 Jon Rahm (-6). Reigning champion Dustin Johnson will have to make up a seven-stroke deficit to defend his title.
Cantlay and Rahm are the 4-1 co-favorites in the latest 2021 Tour Championship golf odds from Caesars Sportsbook. Others in the 2021 Tour Championship field expected to contend include DeChambeau (5-1), Finau (15-2) and Justin Thomas (16-1), while Johnson and two-time FedEx champion Rory McIlroy are in a group at +2500. Before locking in your 2021 Tour Championship picks, be sure to see the latest golf predictions from SportsLine's Mike McClure.
McClure is a DFS pro with nearly $2 million in career winnings, and our proprietary model, built by McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed last June. In fact, it's up almost $10,000 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.
At the 2021 Open Championship, McClure's best bets included Collin Morikawa winning outright even though he was listed as a massive 40-1 long shot. He was also all over Daniel Berger (+220) and Emiliano Grillo (+700) finishing inside the top-20. McClure's best bets netted over $2,200 at the 2021 Open Championship.
In addition, McClure's model was all over Jon Rahm's (10-1) first career major championship victory at the 2021 U.S. Open. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the weekend, but the model still projected him as the winner. And at the 2021 Masters, McClure nailed Rahm's (+250) top-five finish in his best bets, as well as Corey Conners' (+550) top-10 showing.
This same model has also nailed a whopping seven majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.
Now that the 2021 Tour Championship field is locked, McClure has analyzed the latest odds from Caesars and revealed his top prop bets. Head to SportsLine now to see the 2021 Tour Championship best bets.
2021 Tour Championship prop picks
One of McClure's top picks for the Tour Championship 2021: Rahm (-105) wins his head-to-head matchup with Cantlay. The BMW winner has three victories to just one for Rahm, but the Spaniard has been far more consistent this season. Cantlay has six top-10 finishes in 23 events and has been pretty much all-or-nothing. Five of those finishes were in the top three, and he has missed five cuts. Meanwhile, Rahm has finished in the top-10 in 14 of 21 events and is on a run of five straight.
Until his BMW triumph, Cantlay had not finished in the top 10 since his victory at the Memorial in June. That win was made possible when Rahm was forced to withdraw with a six-stroke lead because of a positive COVID-19 test. Rahm has finished in the top 10 in all four events since, including his first major victory at the U.S. Open and a T-3 at the Open Championship. He won't succumb to the pressure, and much of it will be on Cantlay, so the model says you should be confident backing Rahm.
