Masters Countdown: A look at all 79 winning scores at Augusta
We have looked at the Masters a number of different ways. This one is based on a quote recently from Jordan Spieth on how Augusta is going to be a bear this season.
Last year, for the second time in Masters history, a human being shot 18 under to win golf's most famous tournament. The only other time it ever happened was in 1997 when Tiger Woods shot that magical 270 number at Augusta National.
So we know 18 under has twice won this tournament. What other scores have won it and how many times have they occurred? I'm glad you asked. I have a handy graphic available here to answer all of your questions!

(ignore the first bar above "to par" -- that's showing you that this is a bar graph).
The most common winning score for the Masters is 8 under. That is followed by 9 under and 12 under. Interestingly, 15 under has never won the tournament. Neither has 2 over or 19 under. Even par has won it once (Jack Nicklaus) and 1 over three times (Jack Burke, Jr., Sam Snead and Zach Johnson).
Oh and here's a look at the winning score by year.

Jordan Spieth is in the top right. Zach Johnson in the top left.
Spieth said earlier this week at Doral that 18 under won't happen again. He played the course right before trekking down to Miami for the Cadillac Championship.
"When we leave the West Coast and come over to Florida and then in Texas, that's what I think is, 'OK, it's time to get ready for the Masters,' said Spieth. "That's just me personally."
“It's even in better shape this far before the event than it has been the last couple years,” said Spieth. “The greens were very, very quick and very healthy, so I've got a feeling that they are not going to want 18 under to win again.”
