Astros select Red Sox's Garcia in Rule 5 draft, then trade him to Orioles

The Astros selected Red Sox pitcher Jason Garcia in the Rule 5 draft Thursday at the Winter Meetings. The Astros then traded Garcia to the Orioles.

The 22-year-old Garcia went 3-2 with a 3.67 ERA in 56 1/3 innings between two levels of Class A in 2014. He is 15-16 with a 4.69 ERA over five seasons in the minors.
