Cardinals relief pitcher Randy Choate was stuck with a loss Tuesday, giving up a run on a hit and a walk while not recording an out in his team's 5-4, 10-inning defeat against the Giants in Game 3 of the NLCS.
Choate (0-1) began the bottom of the 10th inning with a walk before surrendering a single, putting the potential winning run in scoring position with no outs. He then airmailed a throw to first base on an attempted sacrifice to bring the lead runner around to score on a walkoff error. The Cardinals will be looking to even the series Wednesday in Game 4.
