Dodgers pitcher Chris Withrow has left the team to be with his wife for the birth of their first child, MLB.com reports.

Withrow is in the running for a spot on the team's post-season roster after going 3-0 with a 3.03 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 38:9 K:BB ratio in 29 2/3 innings over 23 appearances during his rookie season. The righty also went 4-0 with a 1.71 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 33:13 K:BB ratio in 26 1/3 Triple-A innings earlier this season.
