Angels starting pitcher Jered Weaver had another subpar outing Friday against the Pirates, as he dropped his third start in a row.
Weaver was hit around in the start, surrendering nine hits, including two home runs in the second inning that accounted for three runs. He was tagged for four runs in six innings of work, while avoiding any walks. He struck out three, while throwing 63 of 97 pitches for strikes.
Weaver took the loss, 4-1, dropping his record to 1-4. Weaver has a 4.65 ERA on the season, and has allowed at least four runs in four of seven starts.
Weaver will try to snap his losing streak in his next start, Thursday at Detroit.
