The Mariners agreed to a minor-league deal with 33-year-old LHP Joe Saunders, according to MLB.com's Greg Johns.

The contract includes an invitation to Major League camp, and Mariners clubhouse staff were setting up a locker for Saunders on Friday morning.

Saunders was 0-5 with a 6.70 ERA last season, splitting the year between the Rangers and Orioles, and also between starting and the bullpen.

He returns to the Mariners after going 11-16 with a 5.26 ERA in 32 starts in 2013. He's expected to contribute out of the bullpen, if he makes the team.
