Let's go into the Royals Hall of Fame and take some pictures.
Let's go into the Royals Hall of Fame and take some pictures.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - We're back in Kauffman Stadium for Game 6 of the 2014 World Series between the Giants and the Royals. While we're here, what do you say we take a quick photo tour of the Royals Hall of Fame, which is located behind the left-field wall and Royals' bullpen -- and a few rows of seats.

The entrance is on the back side of it, and it's free admission until the eighth inning on gamedays. It's worth a look if you get to the stadium early enough or happen to be here for a blowout when you don't mind missing a little bit of the game. I'm gonna limit us to 20 pictures here, just for the sake of not overloading your browser, but this really could have been about 100 pictures. It's a very cool Hall of Fame.

The first thing we see upon entrance is the retired numbers of Royals legends George Brett, Dick Howser and Frank White.

Businessman Ewing Kauffman pushed to get a team after the A's departed for Oakland. He got the Royals.

Hey, this thing is pretty new.

A nice display of all the uniforms in the organzation. I'm partial to the Omaha Storm Chasers.

The Gold Gloves from 2013 for Eric Hosmer, Salvador Perez and Alex Gordon. They'll likely be able to do this again for the 2014 version.

Willie Wilson's cleats! The speedster stole 612 bases in his 15 years with the Royals. His career mark of 668 ranks 12th in baseball history.

Definitely had to include something giving Dan Quisenberry some love. The Royals legend finished in the top five of AL Cy Young voting five times, winning the Relief Man award (seen below is his 1980 award) in each of those five seasons.

Jeff Montgomery's 304 saves ranks 23rd in MLB history. Here's his Relief Man award for his 300th save.

Below is Amos Otis' glove that he used throughout his career. Yes, one glove for the entire 17 years, according to the nice lady working at the Hall of Fame. According to her, he refused to change because he loved this one too much. Note the hole in the middle where you can see something blue peeking out. That's a sponge he put in there to protect his bare hand from the ball once the middle was worn out.

The four Cy Youngs in franchise history. Maybe Yordano Ventura joins the group someday?

The differences in the bats used by players through the years. Check out the sphere knob from the early 1900s (second from the right).

Gloves used through the years. Fingerless in the 1800s!

George Brett's bat and ball from his 3,000th career hit. Lots of pine tar, eh?

The 1985 World Series championship trophy. Will they be adding another one for 2014?

Remembering some of the other playoff teams.

That's 3,154 baseballs to commemorate every career hit for George Brett in the shape of a five, his number, with the 3,000th hit bat and ball in the middle. This is outstanding.

Kansas City, Negro League and all-around baseball legend Buck O'Neil.

We close the tour with a look at the Royals Hall of Famers, on two different walls.

Members? In chronlogical order of induction (corresponding to L-R, top to bottom above):

Amos Otis, Steve Busby, Paul Splittorff, Cookie Rojas, Dick Howser, Dennis Leonard, Hal McRae, Fred Patek, Larry Gura, Joe Burke, Ewing Kauffman, George Brett, Frank White, Muriel Kauffman, John Mayberry, Dan Quisenberry, Whitey Herzog, Willie Wilson, Jeff Montgomery, Denny Matthews, Bret Saberhagan, Mark Gubicza, Art Stewart, Kevin Appier, George Toma.

And then we exit through the gift shop and that's it. Now let's take in Game 6 of the World Series.
