Rays 1B James Loney (finger) nearing rehab assignment

Rays first baseman James Loney is getting close to going out on a rehab assignment, according to MLB.com. 

Loney is on the disabled list with a fractured middle finger and was able to take batting practice on Monday. The rehab assignment, according to manager Kevin Cash, could begin as early as "in the next couple of days."
