Reds pitcher Homer Bailey is getting closer and closer to his return to the majors, reports MLB.com. Bailey was able to throw a simulated game Monday, totaling 75 pitches in his outing.

He is expected to throw Saturday for Triple-A Louisville.

"There's a chance, if the weather is not looking terribly promising, it could be someplace else; it's hard to say," manager Bryan Price said of Sunday's plans. "We'd like to ensure that he's going to pitch and get his equivalent of innings and pitches."

Bailey underwent surgery last September on the flexor mass tendon in his elbow and is eligible to return from the DL Saturday.
