Twins pitcher Tim Stauffer started a minor league injury rehab assignment at Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday.
Stauffer is on the 15-day disabled list with a right intercostal strain.
He pitched the eighth inning and retired the side on nine pitches, six strikes. Stauffer allowed two ground outs and a pop out.
