World Series View of the Game: On field, behind plate at Citi Field
For today's view, we're gonna sit on the field ... sort of.
NEW YORK -- Game 4 of the 2015 World Series between the Mets and Royals is a few hours away, so let's grab our View of the Game, a personal, annual tradition. For this edition, we'll walk down onto the field and take our seats at a brand new area that used to be in play behind home plate.

You can see a seam on the right side of the picture there to indicate we're behind plexiglass. This is amazingly close to the action.

The view out toward left field again shows just how close these seats are the action.

A look across to the first-base side counterpart here gives a good glimpse at where the seats have been added in front of the bricks. Or we could get even closer if we stay on our side.

Sitting in front of the protective net has to be surreal.

As can be seen here, there's a bit of a step up to get to the field. Six inches or so.
How about a before and after? Here's a screen-grab from a wide shot after a Yoenis Cespedes home run in the regular season:

And now here's a shot from the press box before Game 4:

It's like sitting on the field. My guess is, however, that one has to be rich and connected to land one of these things.
