Once upon a time, Karl Malone was a Laker for a brief time. And during that time, an incident occurred between Malone and Kobe Bryant's wife Vanessa. It's pretty ugly. But that was years ago. Surely the former teammates have buried the hatchet, right?

Well, no. Instead, Karl Malone is willing and ready to fight Kobe Bryant at any time.

Wait, what?

Yup. From Huffington Post Live:

"We had a little issue," Malone told host Marc Lamont Hill. "I don't hold grudges ... I love Westerns. I'm old-school Western. Back in the day, when you had a beef, you didn't go get guns and knives ... we just go back in the back with no cameras and knuckle up. Get it over with."

Hill pressed Malone if he offered Bryant that route to resolution.

"It's a standing offer," Malone said. "Look, I don't want no trouble. I don't have a problem. People say whatever they want to say and that's great. I'm 6-9, 272 [pounds] to be exact. I'm not hard to find. I don't want no trouble. But if something got to go down, I'm not playing fair."

"I don't feel tension, but I'm a hunter. So I'm already right there anyway. I'm ready at all times."

Wow.

You probably believe that fight ends quickly, no matter who you think wins. Kobe's a skinny guy, and those guys fight until they're burger. But Malone's just a monster and still strong as an ox. That could get ugly pretty quickly. It would be the most watched video in basketball history, though.

Malone is doing a media tour this week for All-Star Weekend. He was on Boomer and Carton on Tuesday morning and blasted players for resting and their general softness, in typical old country boy "get off my lawn"-ness.
