Kristaps Porzingis on Howard's dunk: 'I want to get him back'
Knicks rookie Kristaps Porzingis wants to dunk on Dwight Howard next time.
Kristaps Porzingis has been dunking all over people this season, but the New York Knicks rookie found himself on the wrong end of a poster on Sunday. In overtime against the Houston Rockets, Dwight Howard skied for an alley-oop dunk, Porzingis got in the way and, well, something violent happened. The victim doesn't seem worried about it, though. He wants revenge.
“He dunked on me; he got me," Porzingis said, via ESPN's Ian Begley. "I was asking [my teammates], 'When is the next game against Houston? I want to get him back. You know, it happens. He's a great player. I'm looking forward to playing next time against him."
.
You have to love Porzingis' attitude. Howard is basically twice as strong as him, as you can see by the way the 20-year-old bounced off of him, but Porzingis is not afraid. That's evident not only in his quotes, but in how he battles on the inside every night and goes after rebounds in traffic. This was an embarrassing play, but Porzingis handled it as well as anybody could.
The bad news: New York has already visited Houston this season. Porzingis won't get a chance to dunk on Howard until next year.
