LOOK: Did Russell Westbrook actually block his own teammate's shot in Game 5?
This is fuel to the Westbrook haters' fire
For all his indisputable talents, Russell Westbrook's critics cite his usage rate and field-goal attempts to say that the Thunder point guard is selfish and detrimental to his teammates.
While it's a valid discussion to have, there's really no evidence that Westbrook intentionally tries to damage his teammates' chances of scoring -- it's not like he goes out there and blocks his own teammates' shots or something ...
Oh no. He didn't. He couldn't have.

Alright so that REALLY looks like Westbrook blocked Thunder forward Jerami Grant's shot as he attempted a putback, but I don't want to live in a world where Russ just decides to go full Teen Wolf -- stealing the ball from his own teammates and throwing down windmill dunks while Steven Adams stands at halfcourt snacking on an apple.
This was a frenzied sequence, and chances are Westbrook didn't even know it was Grant who had the the ball; he was simply trying to do what he could to get the ball and bring his team back from a deficit.
But no matter what his intentions, Westbrook just added mass amounts of fuel to the fires of all the haters out there who say he cares more about his own stats than winning.
