Sometimes a behind-the-back pass is a bad idea. Like if it's the fourth quarter of a Game 7 of the NBA Finals and your team is trying to fend off LeBron James, then you should probably throw a simple pass to Klay Thompson. (Cough, cough: Stephen Curry)

But sometimes it's just a work of art, and there's really nothing like it. Among the history of great behind-the-back passes, this one is up there.

This pass was posted on Reddit Monday and is from the 1974 assists leader, Ernie DiGregorio. DiGregorio helped Providence reach the Final four, and won Rookie of the Year in '74, leading in both free throw percentage and assists per game. Honestly, he should have won the award just for this play.

From beyond half-court, behind the back, between two defenders, perfectly delivered, and the bucket. That's a straight up mind-bending pass and the grainy footage and shaggy hair only makes this better.

Just a little basketball art to brighten your day.
