Justin Timberlake is apparently bringing sexy back to the NBA. ESPN and the Memphis Commercial-Appeal report that prospective Grizzlies owner Robert Pera, who has been recruiting minority owners with ties to the area in recent weeks, has reached out to the superstar pop/R&B-singer-turned-actor. And Timberlake is reportedly in.

It adds a bit of star power to a team that has traditionally lacked anything close to an exciting courtside entity. Timberlake has been a regular at Lakers games but was born in Memphis and raised in a nearby city. With his ties to the area and a marketable name, it's a win-win for Pera to bring Timberlake on board.

So Jay-Z in Brooklyn and Timberlake in Memphis. It's just too bad Nelly was bought out from the Bobcats when Michael Jordan took over. We could have wound up with half the Billboard Top 10 from 2003 if we'd kept at it.

Pera continues to court local business in an attempt to strengthen community ties, as well as shift the deal agreed to with Michael Heisley. Timberlake's ownership will naturally be dependent on getting that deal finalized and approved by the NBA's Board of Governors.

Can we get Tony Allen doing Rock Your Body? Because we really need to get Tony Allen doing Rock Your Body
