Denver Nuggets guard Will Barton is doing a little of everything on Monday. First, he threw down one of the best dunks of the year over Houston Rockets forward Donatas Motiejunas. Later, he made one of the weirdest decisions of the year, throwing Rockets forward Trevor Ariza's shoe away as Ariza was reaching for it:
A few strange things happened here:
1) Barton got a technical foul. I wasn't aware there was a rule against shoe-throwing.
2) The Rockets got mad about this. It's not like Barton was trying to fight Ariza or anything.
3) It spurred on a 15-2 Houston run. Denver was up by 15 points at the time, and it went cold immediately afterward, allowing the Rockets to get within two points. Apparently this is how momentum changes in the NBA.
The Nuggets held on for a 114-108 win.
