In what has been a wild NFL offseason full of surprises, it feels as though the tunes are about to stop in this game of quarterback musical chairs. With Jameis Winston headed back to the New Orleans Saints and Matt Ryan being traded to the Indianapolis Colts, all eyes shift to the Seattle Seahawks and Carolina Panthers

Jimmy Garoppolo and Baker Mayfield are eagerly awaiting trades to come to fruition, but the former No. 1 overall pick reportedly won't be headed to the NFC South. While rumors are swirling, the Panthers are not interested in trading for Mayfield, per ESPN's David Newton

The Cleveland Browns quarterback has already been through a dramatic offseason. He is currently recovering from surgery on his left shoulder, and watched as his team entered the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes. Mayfield then requested a trade, which was initially denied, but should now be fulfilled after Cleveland landed Watson in a shocking turn of events. Mayfield reportedly preferred the Colts as his new team, but they opted to take Ryan from the Atlanta Falcons, who wanted Watson as well.

The most likely team to land Mayfield are the Seahawks, but a trade coming to fruition is no sure thing. It's curious as to how badly Seattle would want Mayfield, and also what the Browns would accept from the Seahawks as compensation. Cleveland reportedly wanted a first-round pick for Mayfield, according to SI's Albert Breer, but that's probably not going to happen.

As for the Panthers, they are seen as a potential landing spot for Garoppolo -- but it's just as likely Matt Rhule and Co. use their No. 6 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft on a quarterback. Both Garoppolo and Mayfield have to be feeling a bit anxious at this point, and both the Browns and San Francisco 49ers will likely have to adjust their expectations on trade compensation.
