Cam to Titans: If you don't like me celebrating, don't let me score
Things were close early, but Cam Newton and the Panthers cruised to a 27-10 victory over the Titans to run their record to 9-0.
Things were close early, but Cam Newton and the Panthers cruised to a 27-10 victory over the Titans to run their record to 9-0. Newton, who is a dark-horse MVP candidate, finished with an efficient 21 of 26 for 217 yards and a touchdown, and he added a rushing touchdown on this 1-yard lunge late in the game that included a very elaborate celebration:
Game in doubt? Keep it with Cam -- he'll get you six the hard way. #CARvsTEN https://t.co/sDHeAgQcEW

Turns out, all of Cam's gesticulating didn't sit well with the Titans. When made aware of this, Newton offered some free advice:
Cam on angering Titans: "I'm a firm believer if you don't like it, keep me out (of the end zone)."

Titans interim coach Mike Mularkey added:
Mularkey on Cam celebrating "He did it all game, which I guess that's acceptable. It's not taunting, but in my mind, it is."

In one sense, Newton's right: if you don't want him celebrating, you have to stop him. But we also understand the Titans' frustrations. They've been a terrible team for some time now, and while they've showed signs of life since Ken Whisenhunt was fired, they have a long way to go.
