Jets coach Rex Ryan wants Miami running back Reggie Bush to apologize to cornerback Darrelle Revis for making a comment about Revis’ season-ending knee injury. (US Presswire)

The strife continues between the Jets and Dolphins.

In 2009, coach Rex Ryan got into a back-and-forth with then-Dolphins LB Channing Crowder.

In September, Dolphins RB Reggie Bush entered the fray. Prior to the teams' September game, Ryan said the Jets' defense needed to put some "hot sauce" on Bush. Ryan stated repeatedly that he simply meant the Jets would have to pay a lot of attention to him.

Bush injured his ankle in that game and took offense to Ryan's statement, interpreting it that Ryan had intended for the team to hurt Bush.

At the time, Ryan clarified his statement and apologized if it was misinterpreted.

CB Darrelle Revis suffered a season-ending ACL tear in that same game and Bush commented, "what goes around comes around."

With the Jets hosting the Dolphins on Sunday, Ryan was asked again about his earlier comments.

"I apologized for my comments," Ryan said. "And I expect him to do the same. He's a player that's going to warrant a lot of attention and we're going to give it to him. We never want to hurt a player. This game is great because of that talent and the players that play in this league."

Ryan said that he doesn't expect an apology, but would rather see Bush apologize to Revis.

"I would expect him to," Ryan said. "That's his peer."
