NFL files appeal in Adrian Peterson case

The NFL filed an appeal Wednesday in the Adrian Peterson case to help preserve the disciplinary power of commissioner Roger Goodell, per Brian Murphy of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. 

The league said that U.S. District Judge David Doty "usurped" league arbitrator Harold Henderson's denial of Peterson's appeal of his suspension passed down by Goodell.  

The 8th Circuit Court said that oral arguments won't be heard until October.
