The Cleveland Browns have decided that Robert Griffin III gives them their best chance at picking up their first win.

The team announced Thursday that RG3 will be the team's starting quarterback when the Browns play host to the Bengals on Sunday. Griffin hasn't played since Week 1, when he injured his collarbone during the Browns' 29-10 loss to the Eagles.

Griffin was eventually placed on injured reserve. However, he was allowed to come back because each team is able to designate one player to return from IR.

RG3 returned to practice on Nov. 23, and coach Hue Jackson has made it pretty clear that he wanted to get at least one more look at Griffin to help him decide whether he's the quarterback of the future in Cleveland.

Griffin was asked about the Browns' quarterback job Monday, and at the time, he didn't seem to know if he would be starting or not.

"I don't know, Coach could wait until Sunday,'' Griffin said. "Whatever their decision is, I'll be OK with it because I'm here to be a Cleveland Brown. I'm here to help this team, not just these last four weeks but into the future.''

That has changed, obviously.

Against the Bengals, Griffin will try to do something no Browns quarterback has been able to do in almost year: win a game.

The Browns are 0-12 this year, and a big reason for that is because their quarterbacks have been massacred. Besides Grffin, the Browns have also lost starting quarterbacks Josh McCown and Cody Kessler to injury.

Every quarterback the Browns start seems to get beat up every game. The Browns have given up a league-high 45 sacks, which is a ridiculously high number when you consider that no other team has even given up 40.

If Griffin and the Browns don't pull off a win this week, that means Cleveland will have gone a full calendar year without a victory. The team's last win came Dec. 13, 2015, with a quarterback who's no longer on the roster.
