Super Bowl LVI is poised to be the most wagered on sporting event in history. While many folks will be putting their money on the actual game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams, some also leave a few bills in the till for the novelty props. These include the color of the Gatorade bath, various aspects of the halftime show and, of course, the national anthem, specifically how long this latest rendition will last.

This year, country star Mickey Guyton will be singing "The Star-Spangled Banner" before Super Bowl LVI, and bettors can now plant their flag on how long they believe the run time for the anthem will be. You can find odds that have the Over/Under set at 1:38 at even money (-115).

Dating to Super Bowl XXV when Whitney Houston gave her iconic performance, the anthem has had an average run time of 1:56. Last year, Jazmine Sullivan and Eric Church went way over with a 2:17 version of the song, which was the longest rendition since Lady Gaga's 2:22 performance in 2016 and Alicia Keys' 2:36 showing in 2013.

According to The Lines, the anthem went over 2 minutes only twice throughout the 1990s, went over 120 seconds in the 2000s four times, and went over the 2-minute mark six times in the 2010s.

As it relates to Guyton and her upcoming performance, the recent trends do point to this going long. However, there are at least two previous performances on record that fell under this current prop. Most notably, Guyton sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" during the National Memorial Day Concert last May. That rendition flew by with a run time of 1:23. Back in 2015 at the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville, Guyton also quickly sang the anthem, clocking in at around 1:30. I expect Guyton to keep that same pace, which has us leaning under.

The last performer to sing the anthem under 1:38 was Kelly Clarkson before Super Bowl XLVI.
