WATCH: Tony Romo suffers back injury, but Jason Garrett says it's not serious
Romo got sacked by the Seahawks, but eventually left the field on his own
It's only Aug. 25 and Tony Romo is hurt. Thankfully, the injury doesn't appear to be serious.
On the Cowboys' third offensive play of their Week 3 preseason game against the Seahawks on Thursday night, Romo felt pressure and stepped up in the pocket thanks to a fantastic block from rookie Ezekiel Elliott. Near the line of scrimmage, Romo began sliding. But as he slid, he was hit from behind by Cliff Avril, which resulted in an awkward landing.

He didn't get up. Eventually he left the field under his own power, but not before scaring all of Dallas.
This is not what anyone wants to see in a meaningless preseason game:

After speaking with doctors on the sideline, Romo tried to argue his way back onto the field. Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said no thanks to that idea and allowed rookie Dak Prescott to continue running the offense.

Romo was limited to four starts last season due to two collarbone injuries. Without their starter under center, the Cowboys floundered, posting a 1-11 record compared to a 3-1 mark in games with Romo.
Thankfully, Romo appears to be OK. He was moving fine on the sideline and even throwing passes, according to reporters at the game.
"We don't think it's a serious thing," Garrett said at halftime, per The Dallas Morning News.
Breathe, Dallas. Breathe.
