Young Texans fan with muscular dystrophy inspired to draw J.J. Watt portrait
A young Texans fan with muscular dystrophy was inspired to draw J.J. Watt. The results are incredible.
A young Texans fan with muscular dystrophy created a pretty incredible piece of artwork to mark his adoration for J.J. Watt and now is hoping the defensive end will sign it.
Marc Gonzalez of Houston is battling Duschenne muscular dystrophy and is helped in combating his daily struggle by drawing inspiration from Watt. He also draws inspiration, sketching out the incredible black-and-white photo you see above for a school project.
"He loves J.J. Watt. He admires him," Gonzalez' mother said. "He sees him as a great role model."
Because of his condition, Marc struggles with hand movements. He spent a month practicing with charcoal and chalk to perfect his method and eventually doing a pretty impressive job etching out Watt's face.
See the full video of Gonzalez story at KHOU here and expect a follow up soon. Finding this young man, giving him an autograph and/or experience he'll remember is the sort of thing that's in Watt's wheelhouse.
