RIP, Popcorn. (MSG)
RIP, Popcorn. (MSG)

A hockey fan at Thursday night’s game between the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers learned a valuable lesson Thursday night. When you’ve spent your hard-earned money on a delicious bucket of buttery popcorn at the hockey game, don’t leave it sitting on the ledge against the glass.

Bruins forward Craig Cunningham delivered a hit to New York Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh right where the snack was stationed. The poor fan’s popcorn exploded from the bucket and landed on the TD Garden floor.

Depending on the fan’s philosophy on the “5 Second Rule,” that would be an unfortunate loss. Also, when you’re sitting along the glass, it’s a long walk back up to the concession stand.

We’ve seen this happen many times with beer, too. That’s a more expensive loss, but less visually appealing than golden-buttery goodness flying everywhere.
