Martin Havlat might be a wanted man, but it doesn't sound like he wants to leave San Jose.

The Ottawa Senators and New York Rangers could both use a little help in their top-six this season. That explains why a report surfaced in the Ottawa Sun on Tuesday that each of the teams had expressed interest in the Sharks' veteran forward who has just two points in eight games this season.

According to a source, Murray has talked to the San Jose Sharks about acquiring right winger Martin Havlat. The former Senator recently returned from a pelvis injury and was playing on the team's third line until Friday, when coach Todd McLellan made him a healthy scratch.

The Sharks have also been asked about Havlat by the New York Rangers, said the source, but GM Doug Wilson is not yet ready to give up on the 32-year old Czech, who has a goal and an assist in eight games this season.

If the Sens and Rangers have expressed interest to the Sharks about Havlat, it's news to Havlat and his agent Allan Walsh. Considering Havlat has a full no-trade clause with the Sharks, that's kind of an important note.

If Havlat is indeed happy in San Jose, there's no reason to think he'd move a no-trade clause if he were ever even asked. He is with a Sharks team right now that is a strong Stanley Cup contender while the Sens and Rangers each have some issues to deal with this season.

Havlat, 32, has this and next season left on his contract that carries a $5 million cap hit. The former Senator had 22 goals and 62 points in 2010-11 while with the Wild but has been slowed by injuries since moving to San Jose three seasons ago.
