Alex Ovechkin may be one of the NHL’s biggest stars, but he’s a virtual national icon in Russia. So, naturally, his biggest fans in his homeland are really, really big fans. In fact, one Russian superfan decided that he wanted to be forever linked to the Washington Capitals captain.
Behold, Alexander Ovechkin in giant tattoo form.
On the Ovechkin scale, this tattoo gets a respectable score of "hahahaha!!!!))))"
It was a somewhat bold choice to immortalize Ovechkin wearing the uniform of the 2014 Russian Olympic team. Their quarterfinal ouster was probably not one of the Great Eight's best moments of his career and was largely viewed as a national embarassment, but hey, not my body.
