Taylor Swift distracted Blackhawks' Patrick Kane during a game once
Former Blackhawks coach Denis Savard sold out his favorite pupil when he shared the story of the time Patrick Kane was too distracted to play good defensive hockey because of Taylor Swift.

Gather ‘round boys and girls, Chicago Blackhawks legend Denis Savard has a whale of a story for you.
Last week, during the Blackhawks’ annual fan convention, one of the panels included Savard, a Hockey Hall of Famer whose No. 18 is retired by the team, and the modern-day version of Savard, Patrick Kane. The elder Blackhawk also coached the team and was behind the bench for Kane’s rookie season in 2007-08.
Savard shared the tale of one of the times he got especially mad at Kane. It came in a mid-February contest against the Predators in Nashville. Kane had some assists in the game [he says three, but the box score says two] and the Blackhawks were up big, but the one goal Nashville ended up scoring was on the rookie according to Savard.
The head coach was upset at his pupil and asked Kane if he was too distracted by the two beautiful blonde young ladies seated behind the bench.
We’ll let Savard tell the tale himself (skip to 23:35 if the video doesn't start there automatically).
What really made Savard mad was that Kane was late to get on the bus after the game. And why was that? Well, his 18-year-old rookie was chatting up these two young ladies after the game. Savard says he called to Kane multiple times and finally dropped a few F-bombs to express the urgency of the situation.
Kane finally came over, but said nothing to Savard.
The next day, the rookie forward knocked on Savard’s office door.
“Do you know who those girls were?” Kane asked his head coach, as Savard recalls. “One of them was Taylor Swift.”
Kane corroborated the story, saying it was absolutely true.
However, the good people at CSNChicago.com managed to find the highlights of the game in question. The lone goal the Blackhawks gave up, Kane was not on the ice. He was, however on the ice for a golden scoring chance shortly thereafter that was robbed by Blackhawks goalie Patrick Lalime.
It appears Denis Savard subscribes to the "don't let the facts get in the way of a good story" method.
It was difficult to find visual evidence of Swift’s presence at the game also, but we’re going to take this ad’s word for it.
So yes, one night, long before she was getting into Twitter feuds or whatever that was with Nicki Minaj, Taylor may have helped the Predators get a good scoring chance in garbage time of a meaningless blowout and may have made Patrick Kane late for the team bus. I knew she was trouble when she walked in.
