Edmonton Oilers forward Jordan Eberle’s skill is well documented. He’s scored a few nifty goals in his day and added another one to his growing highlight reel Monday night against the San Jose Sharks.

With the Oilers trailing 1-0 in the first period, Eberle took matters into his own (quick) hands after taking a pass from Taylor Hall. The 24-year-old first dragged his way past Patrick Marleau before tucking the puck back and wheeling around Brent Burns. After that, it was a backhand flip over goaltender Antti Niemi that evened the score and sent NHL fans into a tizzy.

The Sharks may have been employing the Left Shark Defense on that one. It's not a good look, as the originator shows below.

There wasn’t a whole heck of a lot the Sharks were going to be able to do on that one. Eberle had eyes for the net and knew exactly how to get there.

It’s moments like those that remind you that the Oilers have some real talent in their young players, even if they haven’t been able to effectively build around them. What a spectacular play from Eberle.
