WATCH: Darth Vader bites it at AHL Manchester's Star Wars night
The Dark Side is no match for frozen water.

One of the most popular events in any minor league hockey arena is Star Wars Night. The popularity of the movie has transcended generations and seeing versions of the iconic characters really seems to bring out the fans of both Star Wars and hockey.
In celebration of their mascot’s birthday Sunday, the American Hockey League’s Manchester Monarchs, top affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, had a Star Wars birthday party. Max the Lion was joined by distinguished guest Darth Vader to help drop the puck for the ceremonial opening faceoff.
As the two went to approach center ice, they didn’t have the benefit of a rolled out carpet. As it turns out, even the Dark Side is no match for frozen water because Darth straight up bit it. It wasn't just a fall, it was a slipped-on-a-banana-peel type spill and it's glorious.

DOWN GOES VADER! DOWN GOES VADER!
Thank you, Star Wars Nights and thank you, Steve Wilhite, creator of the animated GIF. This is the pinnacle of your medium.
