Maple Leafs fans are throwing jerseys again.

With their team failing to score a goal in three of their previous four games (and scoring only one goal in the one game they were not shut out over that stretch) Maple Leafs fans were a bit angry on Monday night, especially as they watched their team fall into a 3-0 hole against the Carolina Hurricanes, one of the worst teams in the NHL late in the third period.

And that is when it started raining jerseys, including one stretch in the third period where two different fans tossed jerseys on to the ice during play. When this has happened in the past, including once earlier on Monday, it's typically been during a stoppage in play.

This seems to be a first while the play was still going on.

It's one thing to be angry about your team being a dumpster fire, but throwing things on the ice during play probably isn't the best idea in the world. Not only because it's a guaranteed way to get thrown out of the game and probably banned from the arena, but it can also be dangerous for the players on the ice.

Instead, just do what these guys did.

But good news: The Maple Leafs avoided the embarrassment of failing to score a goal for the fourth time in five games when they scored a late goal in what turned out to be a 4-1 loss. So there is that.
