  • Rangers' Nathan Aspinall: Trio of helpers Saturday

Aspinall posted three assists in OHL Flint's 5-3 win over Erie.

Aspinall has five goals and eight assists over eight contests in December. The 19-year-old forward continues to impress, logging 22 goals and 29 helpers over 32 appearances. He's already earned a career high in points and could push to top 100 for the season if he can keep up this pace all year.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Game changer in overtime

Shesterkin made 28 saves in a 5-4 shootout win over the Flyers on Saturday.

Shesterkin surrendered two power-play goals in the second period, but then bricked things up, especially in overtime when he was the difference maker killing off two 4-on-3s to force the shootout. Shesterkin allowed 18 goals (.893) in his last six starts (3-2-1), but his overtime exploits Saturday could signal that this porous period is over.

  • Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: First goal in five games

Zibanejad scored a power-play goal and added an assist Saturday in a 5-4 shootout win over Philadelphia.

It was Zibanejad's first goal in five games (one assist); he rung up a one-timer from the left circle to make it 4-4 with 2:34 left in the third period. He has already put up seven power-play goals in 36 games -- that's the same total he put up in 82 games last year. Zibanejad is playing QB on the power play, which is delivering more with the man advantage.

  • Rangers' Artemi Panarin: Goals galore in shootout win

Panarin scored twice and got the game-deciding shootout goal in a 5-4 win over the Flyers on Saturday.

It was Panarin's second multi-goal game of the season. He opened the scoring at the end of the first period, and he then cut the score to 3-2 in the second period with a shot from the right circle that beat Samuel Ersson far side. Panarin has 13 goals, 23 assists and 112 shots in 36 games this season. His 11.6 shooting percentage is low, relative to his 14.5 career average, but he's picked up the pace with 42 shots in his last nine games (five goals, five assists).

  • Rangers' J.T. Miller: Suffers injury Saturday

Miller sustained an upper-body injury in Saturday's 5-4 shootout win over Philadelphia, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.

Miller left the game in the third period after being hit by Philadelphia defender Nick Seeler. The 32-year-old Miller appeared to hurt his right arm or shoulder on the play. He still needs to be evaluated, making it unclear if he will play in Sunday's matchup against Nashville. If Miller is unavailable versus the Predators, Taylor Raddysh or Jonny Brodzinski could enter the lineup.

  • Rangers' Artemi Panarin: Ready to rock

Panarin (illness) will return to the lineup Saturday versus Philadelphia, Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic reports.

Panarin will return to a top-six role and see time on the first power-play unit after sitting out Thursday's 2-1 overtime win over St. Louis. The 34-year-old has tallied 11 goals while adding 23 assists over 35 contests this season.

  • Rangers' Gabe Perreault: Gets first NHL goal

Perreault scored a power-play goal and added two PIM in Thursday's 2-1 overtime win over the Blues.

Perreault's skate deflected a Will Cuylle pass into the net at 6:02 of the second period, tying the game at 1-1. They all count the same, and that will go down as Perreault's first NHL tally. The 20-year-old has picked up two points, three shots on net, five blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over four NHL appearances this season while adding 17 points in 20 outings for AHL Hartford.

He's up to a total of 10 goals (three game-winners), 21 points, 77 shots on net, 74 hits and a minus-11 rating across 34 appearances. Miller is on track to finish below a point-per-game pace for the first time since 2020-21.

Shesterkin stopped 26 of 27 shots in Thursday's 2-1 overtime win over the Blues.

Shesterkin had allowed at least three goals in each of his previous four outings, going 1-2-1 in that span. The 29-year-old netminder was much better against a Blues team on the second half of a back-to-back, allowing just a Jonatan Berggren tally late in the first period. Shesterkin is up to 14-11-3 with a 2.49 GAA and a .910 save percentage over 28 starts this season. The Rangers play a back-to-back over the weekend, hosting the Flyers on Saturday before visiting the Predators on Sunday.

Panarin was regarded as a game-time call due to the illness. He has 11 goals and 34 points in 35 outings this year. Gabe Perreault is expected to draw into the lineup and might even have a role in the top six due to Panarin's absence.

Shesterkin has played in 10 of the Rangers' last 12 outings, posting a 6-3-1 record, 2.60 GAA and .906 save percentage. • Rangers' Artemi Panarin: Game-time call Thursday

Panarin will be a game-time decision versus the Blues on Thursday due to illness, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.

Panarin's absence would be a huge blow for the Rangers, as they would lose a top-line winger and a player from their No. 1 power-play unit. If the Russian winger does miss out, J.T. Miller would be a candidate to move up to the first line, while Will Cuylle could also be under consideration. In his 35 appearances this year, Panarin has racked up 11 goals and 23 helpers, including eight power-play points.
