  • Rangers' Adam Fox: Selected as Norris Trophy winner

Fox was voted the Norris Trophy winner as the NHL's top defenseman this year.

After an impressive rookie year in 2019-20 with 42 points and a plus-22 rating in 70 contests, Fox stepped up his game with 47 points and a plus-19 rating in 55 games this year. He's also posted 102 blocked shots and maintained a high level of defensive play while seeing time in all situations. Still just 23 years old, Fox will likely be worthy of an early-to-middle-round pick in fantasy drafts this fall.

  • Rangers' Adam Fox: Wraps up Norris-worthy season

Fox finished the season with five goals, 42 assists and a plus-19 rating in 55 games.

Advanced stats paint Fox as the league's best defenseman, but his lack of name recognition heading into the season and New York's failure to make the playoffs will make winning the Norris Trophy an uphill battle. Still, Fox will likely be named a finalist for the award and could wind up leading all defensemen in points, though Edmonton's Tyson Barrie will likely overtake him over the Oilers' final three games. Only 23 years old, Fox is primed to rank among the league's top defensemen for many years to come and should be among the first few blueliners off the board in fantasy drafts next season.

  • Rangers' Adam Fox: Trio of apples in win

Fox produced three assists, two blocked shots, two shots on net and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Sabres.

One of Fox's helpers came on the power play. He assisted on three straight goals by the Rangers -- the first of two for Kaapo Kakko and the last pair of Mika Zibanejad's hat trick in Sunday's game. Fox crossed the 40-assist mark in the process. The 23-year-old blueliner has five tallies, 41 helpers, 93 shots on goal, 87 blocked shots and a plus-23 rating through 48 games in a breakout campaign.

  • Rangers' Adam Fox: Two helpers against Devils

Fox picked up two assists while adding three blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Devils.

He had a hand in the Rangers' first two goals of the night, snapping a very brief two-game point drought. Fox is putting together a dazzling sophomore campaign, and on the season he has five goals and 39 points through 41 games.

  • Rangers' Adam Fox: Point streak at 11 games

Fox scored a shorthanded goal and added two power-play assists in Tuesday's 8-4 win over Pittsburgh.

Fox stretched his point streak to 11 games and 21 points (three goals, 18 assists). After notching a pair of power-play helpers in the first period, Fox gravitated towards open ice in the Pittsburgh zone and found himself all alone in front to finish off a nifty Mika Zibanejad feed on a third-period Penguins power play. The second-year defenseman's up to 36 points on the season.

  • Rangers' Adam Fox: Ups point streak to double digits

Fox dished out two assists and had one shot Saturday in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Sabres.

Fox extended his point streak to 10 games with an assist on Artemi Panarin's power-play goal to open the scoring midway through the second period. He added another helper late in the second period with a perfect feed to set up a Panarin one-timer. Fox has racked up two goals and 16 assists during his point streak, moving him into second among NHL defensemen with 33 points overall this season. Only Tampa Bay's Victor Hedman (35) has outscored the 22-year-old Fox from the blue line in 2020-21.

  • Rangers' Adam Fox: Point streak at seven games

Fox notched two assists, one on the power play, in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Capitals.

The second-year blueliner continues to roll. On the season, Fox has a stellar three goals and 29 points in 33 games.

  • Rangers' Adam Fox: Bags five apples

Fox dished out five helpers in Thursday's 8-3 win over the Flyers. Three came on the power play and another while shorthanded.

Fox played a critical role in New York's hot start, which saw the Rangers build a 6-0 lead in the game's first 23 minutes thanks to four Fox assists. All three of his power-play assists were finished off by Mika Zibanejad during that six-goal streak, with Ryan Strome drawing the other helper on each of those goals. The second-year blueliner now has a five-game point streak going, including eight points in the last two games alone. Among the league leaders in both minutes and points among defensemen (26 in 31 games), Fox is already a true No. 1 blueliner.

  • Rangers' Adam Fox: Three-point night in win

Fox scored an even-strength goal and added two power-play assists in Monday's 5-3 win over the Sabres.

The blueliner has found the scoresheet in four straight games since returning from a one-game absence due to COVID-19 protocols. The three points were a season high for Fox, and overall he has three goals and 21 points through 30 contests.

  • Rangers' Adam Fox: Clears COVID-19 protocol

Fox was activated from COVID-19 protocol Wednesday, Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today reports.

Fox will be in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Flyers. This is a significant boost for the Rangers' blue line, as Fox has provided two goals, 15 points and 53 blocked shots through 26 games. The 23-year-old should slot back in on the first defensive pairing and the top power-play unit.

  • Rangers' Adam Fox: In COVID-19 protocol, out Monday

Fox won't play in Monday's game against the Flyers after being placed in the NHL's COVID-19 protocol, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Fox, Phillip Di Giuseppe and Pavel Buchnevich are all in protocol for the Rangers and won't play Monday. The 23-year-old Fox has produced 15 points through 26 games. He'll need to clear protocol before returning to the lineup, and his next opportunity to play is Wednesday's rematch against the Flyers.

  • Rangers' Adam Fox: Two-point effort Saturday

Fox scored a power-play goal and added an even-strength assist in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Devils.

He opened the scoring early in the first period on a coast-to-coast rush that likely reminded long-time Blueshirts fans of Brian Leetch in his prime, then chipped the puck up to Ryan Strome late in the third for an empty-netter. Fox has three multi-point efforts in the last five games, and on the season the 23-year-old has put together two goals and 14 points through 22 contests.

  • Rangers' Adam Fox: Two helpers in Friday's win

Fox notched two assists, one on the power play, in Friday's 6-2 win over the Bruins.

He also added three blocked shots, one shot on net and a plus-2 rating to his ledger. Fox isn't quite matching the scoring pace he put up as a rookie, but the 23-year-old still has a solid 10 points through 18 games, with most of that production (one goal, six assists) coming on the power play.

  • Rangers' Adam Fox: Tops 30-minute mark

Fox had three shots on net, four blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over a game-high 30:17 of ice time in Thursday's 3-2 shootout win over Philadelphia.

Fox is among the league leaders in ice time, and he's being asked to play even more with Jacob Trouba (thumb) and K'Andre Miller (upper body) out of the lineup, though the latter is expected to return soon. While Fox stuffed the stat sheet as usual and played over five minutes on both the power play and the penalty kill, he had a forgettable night by his lofty standards and inadvertently helped Philadelphia open the scoring by kicking the puck into his own net while falling down on a scramble in the crease. He has seven points through 15 games after scoring 42 points in 70 games last season, and Fox has now gone five games without getting on the scoresheet.

  • Rangers' Adam Fox: Big night on power play

Fox dished two power-play assists in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Devils.

Anthony DeAngelo remains in coach David Quinn's doghouse and was a healthy scratch, opening up a spot on the first power-play unit for Fox once again. The 22-year-old has collected three helpers with the man advantage over the last two games, and given Fox's success so far in that role, DeAngelo may not regain his plum assignment once he rejoins the lineup.

  • Rangers' Adam Fox: Gets point on top PP unit

Fox had a power-play assist, two shots and a blocked shot in Saturday's 5-0 win over the Islanders.

With Anthony DeAngelo scratched for disciplinary reasons, Fox moved up to the top power-play unit and logged over seven minutes with the extra man while setting up New York's first power-play goal of the young season with a touch pass to Artemi Panarin in the slot. The second-year pro out of Harvard has surpassed $56 million man Jacob Trouba as the best all-around blueliner on the Rangers, as Fox can't match Trouba's physicality but more than makes up for it with elite positioning and anticipation. If Fox can permanently supplant DeAngelo on the top power-play unit, he could contend for a top-10 fantasy finish among defensemen.
