Fox, who has been on long-term injured reserve with a lower-body injury, is expected to return Wednesday versus Detroit without any restrictions on his playing time, coach Peter Laviolette told Colin Stephenson of Newsday . Fox has three goals and 11 points in 10 contests this season. He hasn't played since Nov. 2, so he might need a game or two to get back to full speed, but based on Laviolette's comments, Fox should be expected to assume his regular roles on the top pairing and first power-play unit. Zac Jones, who has played in the Rangers' last 10 games, is projected to serve as a healthy scratch Wednesday.... See More ... See Less

Rangers' Adam Fox: Trending toward Wednesday return
Fox (lower body) was a full participant at Monday's practice and appears to be on track to return once he's eligible to be activated off long-term injured reserve Wednesday versus Detroit, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports. Fox will miss a 10th straight game Monday versus Buffalo, but he should be ready to return to his featured role skating on the top pairing and first power-play unit against the Red Wings on Wednesday. The 25-year-old American has racked up three goals and 11 points, nine of which have come on the power play, through just 10 games this campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adam Fox: On LTIR
Fox (lower body) was placed on the long-term injured reserve list Friday, per Dan Rosen of NHL.com. Fox was injured by what appeared to be a knee-on-knee collision with Sebastian Aho during Thursday's 2-1 loss to Carolina. Putting Fox on LTIR means he's ineligible to return before Nov. 29 versus Detroit. The 25-year-old defenseman has three goals and 11 points in 10 contests this year. Zac Jones will likely play regularly during Fox's absence, and Erik Gustafsson might move up to the top power-play unit.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adam Fox: Leaves with lower-body injury
Fox sustained a lower-body injury in Thursday's game versus the Hurricanes and won't return. Fox got the worst of a collision with Sebastian Aho, which appeared to be a knee-on-knee situation. With Fox out of Thursday's game, Erik Gustafsson will handle the bulk of the power-play duties. The Rangers' next game is Saturday in Minnesota.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adam Fox: One of each in win
Fox scored a goal on four shots and added an assist, both on the power play, in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Canucks. Fox was involved in the Rangers' two goals in the third period, scoring one and setting up Mika Zibanejad for the other. Over his last three games, Fox has racked up five points, all but one of which have come on the power play. The defenseman is at three goals, 10 points (eight on the power play), 13 shots on net, eight blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through eight contests overall.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adam Fox: Two points in win
Fox scored a power-play goal on two shots and added an assist in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Oilers. Fox's tally held up as the game-winner in the shutout victory. The 25-year-old defenseman has hit the ground running in 2023-24, getting on the scoresheet in six of seven games for a total of two goals and six helpers. He's added nine shots on net, six blocked shots, six PIM and a plus-3 rating. Fox has been especially effective on the power play, where he's earned six of his eight points, including both goals. He scored just once on the power play last season, though he also logged 28 assists with the man advantage in 2022-23.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adam Fox: Supplies helper
Fox logged a power-play assist in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Flames. Fox helped out on a Chris Kreider tally in the second period. After seeing a four-game point streak end Saturday in Seattle, Fox quickly got himself back on the scoresheet. The star defenseman has a goal, five assists, seven shots on net, six blocked shots and a plus-3 rating through six outings this season. All but one of his points have come on the power play.... Rangers' Adam Fox: Fires home first tally of season
Fox scored a power-play goal in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Predators. The blueliner spoiled Juuse Saros' shutout bid by banking the puck home off the leg of a sprawling Ryan McDonagh late in the second period. It was Fox's first goal of the season, but he's found the scoresheet in every game so far and has five points in four contests.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adam Fox: Gets two points in Game 6
Fox registered two assists in the Rangers' 5-2 win over New Jersey in Game 6 on Saturday. Fox had his third multi-point contest of the series, bringing him up to eight points -- all assists -- through six postseason outings this year. Four of his helpers in the first round have been recorded with the man advantage, including his first assist Saturday, which came on Chris Kreider's tally late in the opening period. Fox is best known for his offensive contributions, but he also has seven hits and 16 blocks in the 2023 playoffs.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adam Fox: Among best playoff performers
Fox had two assists in a 5-1 win over New Jersey in Game 2 on Thursday. Fox is the sixth defenseman in NHL history with six points (all assists) in his first two games of a playoff year. He surpassed Brad Park for the most points by a defenseman in the first two games of a postseason in Rangers history. And to think Fox is doing this at just 25 -- his best is yet to come.... Rangers' Adam Fox: Four assists in Game 1 win
Fox dished out four assists -- two on the power play -- in Tuesday's 5-1 Game 1 win over the Devils. The man who wears No. 23 for the Rangers came into this game with 23 points in 23 career playoff games, but Fox won't mind this performance spoiling that symmetry. Both of Fox's power-play assists came on tip-ins by Chris Kreider, and Fox also set up a goal by defense partner Ryan Lindgren, as well as Filip Chytil's empty-netter to cap the scoring.... Rangers' Adam Fox: Reaches 70-point threshold
Fox picked up two assists -- one on the power play -- in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Lightning. Fox was quiet for most of the night but helped the Rangers pull away with third-period assists on goals by Chris Kreider and Artemi Panarin, the latter of which came on the man advantage. With these two points, Fox is up to an even 70 this season, so he'll need four over New York's last four games to tie last year's career high total. He was reunited with customary defense partner Ryan Lindgren (upper body) in this one, as Lindgren returned after missing 17 of New York's previous 18 games.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adam Fox: Ends goal drought in timely fashion
Fox scored the game-winning goal in Thursday's 2-1 victory over the Hurricanes. The blueliner had gone 24 games without finding the back of the net, but Fox ended his drought early in the third period by taking a feed from Artemi Panarin and snapping the puck into the top corner over Frederik Andersen's shoulder. Fox was far from unproductive during his goalless stretch, collecting 16 assists during that time, and the tally also tied the career-high 11 he scored last season.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adam Fox: Grabs two helpers in win
Fox recorded a pair of assists in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Kings. Fox set up a Vincent Trocheck goal early in the second period before assisting on Mika Zibanejad's power-play tally in the third. Fox would also add three blocked shots in the contest. The 25-year-old blueliner is up to 56 points (10 goals, 46 assists), putting him fifth among defenseman, through 60 games this season.... Rangers' Adam Fox: Records pair of helpers
Fox logged two assists, three shots on goal, two hits and two blocked shots in Friday's 5-4 shootout win over the Oilers. Fox set up Chris Kreider's shorthanded goal in the second period and Mika Zibanejad's game-tying power-play marker in the third. Through six games in February, Fox has five helpers, though Friday was his first multi-point effort since Jan. 23. The defenseman is up to 53 points (18 on the power play, two shorthanded), 116 shots on net, 77 blocked shots and a plus-26 rating through 55 contests in what's setting up be another career year.... Rangers' Adam Fox: Reaches 50 points
Fox supplied a power-play assist in Friday's 6-3 win over the Kraken. Only four blueliners across the league have more points than Fox, who has recorded 10 goals and 40 assists through 52 games. The New York native has also skated to a plus-25 rating, which is a career-best mark along with his sharp 8.8 shooting percentage.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adam Fox: Big night in big win
Fox scored a goal and two assists, one on the power play, while adding one shot, two blocked shots and a plus-5 rating during Monday's 6-2 win over the Panthers. It was a dominant performance for the blueliner, who was on the ice for every Rangers goal. Fox has been on fire in January, and through 10 games on the month he's piled up three goals and 13 points with 19 blocked shots, 31 shots on net and a plus-11 rating.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adam Fox: Plays hero Thursday
Fox scored the game-winning goal in overtime and added an assist in Thursday's 2-1 victory over the Stars. For 59 minutes and 59.8 seconds, the Rangers couldn't get a puck past Jake Oettinger, but Fox wound up collecting a helper on K'Andre Miller's desperation tally to tie it right before the final buzzer, and then he scored himself a little over a minute into OT, picking up the puck after a scramble in front of the Dallas crease and flipping a backhander over Oettinger's outstretched blocker. Fox extended his point streak to six games in the process, a stretch in which he's racked up two goals and nine points, while Thursday's game-winner was his fourth of the season -- tying the career high he set as a rookie in 2019-20.... Rangers' Adam Fox: Goal and assist in win
Fox tallied a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout win over Minnesota. Fox tied the game 2-2 in the second period, beating Marc-Andre Fleury on an odd-man rush. The 24-year-old defenseman would add an assist on Filip Chytil's goal in the third following an impressive puck-handling play. The goal was Fox's first since Dec. 5, but he has points in five straight games, logging six assists in that span. He remains one of the top point-scoring defensemen in the league, with eight goals and 34 assists through 42 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adam Fox: Notches two helpers
Fox recorded a pair of assists (one on the power play), three shots on goal and three blocked shots in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Golden Knights. This was Fox's first multi-point effort in his last eight games, but he's still been productive with a goal and six helpers in that span. The 24-year-old defenseman played a key part in the Rangers' explosive third-period Wednesday. For the season, the American blueliner has seven goals, 23 helpers, 10 power-play points, 58 shots on net, 41 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating in 28 outings.... See More ... See Less
