Biaggio Ali Walsh is the reigning Gatorade Nevada Player of the Year after rushing for 2,451 yards with 36 total touchdowns and an average of 12.1 yards per carry last season as a star running back for seven-time state champion Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas.

He's also the grandson of Muhammad Ali and, as of Sunday, a commit in Cal's upcoming recruiting class.

Walsh announced his commitment to the Bears on Twitter and also shouted out his favorite former Bear, Marshawn Lynch. It turns out, according to screen shots of their text thread, that Lynch has been keeping up to date on the recruitment and offered his congratulations in a short, Beast Mode-like, nod.

As a prospect, Walsh is rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports and ranked as the No. 11 all-purpose back in the recruiting cycle. He also held offers from Arizona, Colorado, Louisville and Vanderbilt but now gets a chance to follow in Beast Mode's path as the latest addition Cal's 2017 class.
