MOBILE, Ala. (AP) Shamar Wright scored 24 points and Ray’Sean Taylor made a shot at the buzzer to help SIU-Edwardsville Cougars beat Denver Pioneers 77-74 on Thursday night in the Jaguar Classic.

Wright had five rebounds for the Cougars (2-2). Taylor scored 21 points while going 7 of 12 (5 for 7 from 3-point range), and added six rebounds. Damarco Minor shot 5 of 14 from the field and 4 for 6 from the line to finish with 14 points, while adding 13 rebounds.

Tommy Bruner led the way for the Pioneers (2-2) with 33 points and two steals. DeAndre Craig added 10 points and seven rebounds for Denver. In addition, Isaiah Addo-Ankrah had 10 points.
