OK, let's put a pin in this Grayson Allen, Ted Cruz thing once and for all.

The background: At the start of last season, when Allen was a freshman at Duke, people began noticing he resembled Cruz, now a candidate for the Republican nomination for president. The chatter continued through the 2014-15 campaign and has now peaked during the 2016 NCAA Tournament as Allen, now a sophomore, is leading three-seed Duke in scoring with 21.6 points per game this year.

And when I say it has recently peaked, I mean people like Matt Sandbulte (mad props, by the way) are doing digital face swaps of Allen and Cruz. The result was tremendous.

OK, now everyone's caught up?

So with Allen and Duke beating Yale on Saturday and advancing to the Sweet 16 -- and with nearly a week to go until the Blue Devils suit up again -- the question was almost inevitable at some point after the Round of 32 game.

Grayson, what do you think when people say you and Ted Cruz look alike?

"I don't see it. I asked my parents, and the[y] don't see it either," Allen replied.

So let's allow this to be the end of it (until Cruz is assuredly asked about it on the campaign trail).

Everyone in the world thinks Allen looks just like Cruz, except Allen ... and apparently his family. Or as Jennifer Lawrence would say ...
