What to Know

The DePaul Blue Demons are 0-12 against the Creighton Bluejays since January of 2016, but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit Saturday. The Blue Demons and Creighton will face off in a Big East battle at 5:30 p.m. ET at CHI Health Center Omaha. The Bluejays will be strutting in after a victory while DePaul will be stumbling in from a defeat.

DePaul was just a bucket short of a win on Wednesday and fell 68-67 to the Xavier Musketeers. One thing holding DePaul back was the mediocre play of guard Jalen Terry, who did not have his best game: he played for 34 minutes but put up just nine points on 4-for-13 shooting and five turnovers.

Meanwhile, Creighton made easy work of the St. John's Red Storm on Wednesday and carried off an 87-64 victory. Creighton's guard Alex O'Connell was one of the most active players for the team, shooting 6-for-9 from beyond the arc and finishing with 28 points and seven rebounds.

The Blue Demons are the clear underdogs, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one. However, those who like betting on the underdog should be happy to hear that they are 6-2 against the spread when expected to lose.

DePaul is now 10-7 while the Bluejays sit at 11-5. Two numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: DePaul ranks 26th in college basketball when it comes to blocked shots per game, with 5.2 on average. Creighton is not quite as good, but they are no chumps, either: they enter the contest with five blocked shots per game on average, good for 33rd best in college basketball. Points in the paint might be hard to come by.
