Skyy Clark, a five-star point guard who signed with Kentucky in November, announced Sunday that he is asking for his release from the school and will reopen his recruitment. The Montverde (Florida) star is ranked as the No. 5 point guard and No. 27 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite.

Clark initially committed to Kentucky in October 2020. With him reopening his recruitment, he becomes the second-ranked uncommitted prospect left, behind Duncanville (Texas) point guard Anthony Black.

In his statement, Clark said he would take the next few weeks to decide what his next step is.

With Clark's departure the Wildcats now have two players committed in the Class of 2022, a pair of top 10 players and five-star prospects in wings Chris Livingston and Cason Wallace.

The Wildcats also have Shaedon Sharpe, ranked as the top prospect in the 2022 class before enrolling at semester. Sharpe is currently redshirting, though there is some question whether he will return to school next season or elect to enter the 2022 NBA Draft. Kentucky coach John Calipari said earlier this season that Sharpe would be the likely No. 1 pick in 2023 should he return.
