What to Know

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets' road trip will continue as they head to Dean E. Smith Center at 8 p.m. ET this past Saturday to face off against the North Carolina Tar Heels. The Yellow Jackets will be seeking to avenge the 79-62 loss they suffered the last time these two teams played Dec. 5 of last year.

Georgia Tech didn't have too much breathing room in their contest with the Boston College Eagles this past Wednesday, but they still walked away with an 81-76 win. Georgia Tech got double-digit scores from four players: guard Tristan Maxwell (22), guard Jordan Usher (14), guard Michael Devoe (13), and guard Dallan Coleman (11).

Meanwhile, UNC strolled past the Virginia Cavaliers with points to spare last week, taking the matchup 74-58. UNC's forward Armando Bacot did his thing and dropped a double-double on 29 points and 21 boards. That makes it six consecutive games in which Bacot has had at least ten rebounds. Bacot's points were the most he has had all year.

Georgia Tech is the clear underdog, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one. Those who got lucky with them against the spread this past Wednesday might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the squad has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.

Their wins bumped the Yellow Jackets to 7-8 and the Tar Heels to 11-4. In Georgia Tech's victory, Michael Devoe had 13 points in addition to nine rebounds and four blocks and Tristan Maxwell shot 7-for-11 from beyond the arc and finished with 22 points. We'll see if UNC have a strategy for dealing with them or if they lead their team to another successful outing.
